Magseis Fairfield are looking for a key-person to manage, support and develop our infrastructure and systems in IT Operation. The right person will work with our other technical disciplines on evolving our fully automated MASS operations.
Analyze operational needs, design, engineer and test IT architectures and systems
Install and configure workstations/servers/storage/switches/magnetic tapes
Automation of installations and configuration of various systems
Participate in rigging, mobilization/de-mobilization and field work
Participate in field testing and installations of new equipment and software
Keep up to date with technology developments in the field of IT relevant to the role
Provide support and expertise to the office and field crews
Providing input into the annual budget for maintenance, repair and investment

BS/MSc in IT engineering, computer science or related field
Relevant work experience may compensate for less education
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
Extensive and documented experience working with Linux
Extensive and documented experience with network infrastructure, Cisco is appreciated
Experience with storage cluster based on IBM GPFS / BeeGFS
Experience with automation solutions such as Ansible, Puppet and Kickstart
Fluent English, written and verbal
Strong documentation skills and an make-it-happen approach
Excellent team player, positive attitude and desire to drive
Up to date with technology novelties within server, storage and virtualization
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Documents projects and operational procedures with minimal supervision
Ability to perform technical evaluations, analysis and troubleshooting for all supported systems
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within and outside the organisation
Willing and able to work long hours at irregular intervals
Domestic and international travel as required.
Valid Passport and BOSIET certificate
Travel to vessel- and field operations all over the world
